Santiago de Compostela

Moving on from Ribadesella we drove to Santiago de Compostela.  We saw many pilgrims along the way, strangely we saw lots of knee bandages as well and walking sticks.  We were here for just one night and stayed at the Hotel Compestella.  Very modern hotel.  After checking in we hit the streets straight away as there is much to see in this city.

Probably most of you know that this is the end of the Pilgrims walk and its the city of Saint James the Great.  We did try and line up inside the cathedral to see the shrine but the queue was snaking around the cathedral.  I loved this little city with its quirky alleyways and streets.  I have a thing about doors also and love to snap them.

The next day we drove to Vigo to drop off the car and pick up our next bus.  When I did all the research about driving in Spain, it was a toss up between Vigo and Compostela, Compostela won hands down.
